Under the Torture Victims Relief Act of 1998, USAID works through a Victims of Torture Fund to assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of people who suffer from the physical and psychological effects of torture. USAID has provided about $76.9 million over the past decade for these activities, including $8.7 million in FY 2007.
This audit will (1) determine whether the activities have achieved intended results and (2) assess the activities’ impact.
