Evaluation International Winter University Macedonia IWUM 2005 REPORT.pdf Download

Description:

In January 2005, the International Winter University Macedonia (IWUM) was organised by the Academic Training Association (ATA) together with the faculties of Law, Public Administration, Economics and Business Administration of the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University Skopje, the Ss. Kliment Ohridski University Bitola, and the South-East European University (SEE) in Tetovo.

The Winter University offered eight courses in the fields of Law, Public Administration, Economics and Business Administration.

In total, 182 students participated in the IWUM. Among the participants from
Macedonia, there were 55 students from the University of Skopje, 46 came from the SEE University and 41 from the University of Bitola. Additionally, 27 students from the South East European region and 13 participants from other European countries attended the courses.

At the end of the Winter University, the organisers asked the students to evaluate their courses and the general organisation of the event. 150 students filled out the evaluation forms. The results of their evaluations are presented in this report.
Each student received two evaluation questionnaires in multiple-choice format.

The first concerned the quality of the course, the second the quality of the facilities, extra-curricular programme and the organisation in general. Both questionnaires contained three background questions, in which students had to indicate their institutional background (whether they came from one of the three participating universities in Macedonia, from a different country in Eastern Europe or from outside Eastern Europe), their English proficiency, and the amount of time per week they had spent on the course.

The first section of this report presents the evaluation of the courses. In the next section, the evaluation of the facilities, extra-curricular programme and the organisation will be examined. In the last section of this report conclusions will be drawn.
